Our lifestyle choices impact our wellness. This fact alone can be very empowering. Let's take a look at how we could reap the benefit of abundant energy, optimal weight, health and happiness. There are some indigenous populations with almost no heart disease, no cancer, no diabetes, no high blood pressure and no obesity like the Papua New Guinea Highlanders, the Okinawans and the Hunzas among others. The majority of their total calorie intake is from organic, whole plants. They eat very little or no meat, no eggs, no dairy, no sugar and no oil.

Sun. Sandy beaches. A bit of fun and relaxation in Mexico. That’s what I wanted. Or at least that’s what I thought I wanted. After all, vacation was just something I did to relax and get away. Leaving the cares and troubles of everyday life at home and drown the true issues in a large margarita. But the universe knew better and had a surprise waiting for me in that tropical resort city. For a reason I still don’t comprehend, I felt a sudden lack in my life halfway through my vacation—a craving for something I couldn’t understand.

Virtues for Awakening

Virtues for Awakening Virtues are the most precious treasure. Students take many classes from different teachers, related to various energy or spiritual methods, hoping that their psychic, manifestation and healing powers will increase. Without developing virtues though those classes are futile. It’s not sufficient to believe that we are virtuous, but when a situation arises, we need to be able to act virtuously. A virtuous person cannot be hurt. The person who has developed the largest number of virtues, and who renounces the transient pleasures of the world, for the eternal bliss- Ananda, performs the only miracle that can be called a miracle. This person can change the curses of karma into blessings. Neither fire, nor water, nor wind can destroy the blessing of a good deed, and these blessings can reform the whole world. The virtuous lets their mind pervade the four quarters of the world with thoughts for love.

According to the ancient spiritual teachers, all that exists in nature is divided into three qualities (gunas) - tamas, rajas, and sattva. The rajasic quality is in the centre with tamasic on one side and sattvic on the other side. Rajas means desire and tamas means laziness or stupor, absence of activity and lethargy. Sattva means wisdom, knowledge, brightness and light. We have to rise up from the tamas to the rajas and from the rajas to the sattva. When we become primarily sattvic, life becomes joyful.

The mystery of the Essenes has intrigued scholars for many centuries; but with the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in 1946, the Essenes have suddenly become quite important. The scrolls were written in Aramaic, various dialects of Hebrew and Greek languages. Many people were astonished to discover that, two thousand years ago, a community of spiritual men and women, carried within themselves the seeds of future western civilization.

"My life often seemed to me like a story that has no beginning and no end. I had the feeling that I was a historical fragment, an excerpt for which the preceding and succeeding text was missing. I could well imagine that I might have lived in former centuries and there encountered questions I was not yet able to answer; that I had been born again because I had not fulfilled the task given to me." —Carl Jung Reincarnation

We all know that we have emotions and thoughts, even though we can’t precisely measure them. How do we know that we have emotions? How do we know that we have thoughts? With the advent of modern science, can we accurately measure the type and intensity of our emotions? We can certainly see our physical body, which is according to science made out of atoms. This article is meant to encourage a reader to think, and not necessarily agree with information presented.

Socrates (470 BCE- 399 BCE) was a Greek philosopher and the main source of Western thought. Little is known of his life except what was recorded by his students, including Plato. Socrates is why we still praise the power of reason in human affairs today, a power we praise more than we practice.

The Reiki Academy is more than anything a community that promotes wellness. It is an open and accepting environment, which increases awareness of your mind, body and soul. Providing insight on how to live life positively and become attune to yourself and those around you. I found the group online, after experiencing a sort of spiritual awakening following a very difficult period in my life. It was a personal experience that seemingly came out of nowhere, yet was so profound I wished to understand and find more meaning.

You believe in a God who plays dice, and I in complete law and order.”
- Albert Einstein (1879-1955), Letter to Max Born

It seems that even God is bound by the Uncertainty Principle, and can not know both the position, and the speed, of a particle. So God does play dice with the universe.”- S. Hawking, 1995

From the tiniest particles in quantum physics to the tumbling of celestial bodies, not to mention the weather and the stock exchange - nothing in the universe ever behaves in a way that is totally predictable. In this article we conclude that the future is not predictable, but the universe operates in accordance with the universal principles, which are not mapped in scientific equations.

The Big Bang theory is a scientific effort to explain what happened at the very beginning of our universe. According to the standard theory, our universe is thought to have begun as an infinitely small, hot, dense, something - a singularity. Where did it come from? Why did it appear? Scientists have no answers. Prior to the singularity, nothing existed, neither space, nor time or matter. After its initial appearance, based on scientific theories, our universe expanded and cooled, going from very small and hot, to the size and temperature of our current universe. It continues to expand and cool to this day and we are inside of it. This is the Big Bang theory.

After meeting Swami Vivekananda, Tesla began using the Sanskrit words Akasha, Prana, and the concept of a luminiferous ether to describe the source, existence and construction of matter.
